a quick DIY butterfly wreath

In honor of Spring and my nana's love for butterflies (she passed away on Monday..), I made a quick butterfly wreath for my front door.
I took a medium-sized grapevine wreath and attached feather butterflies with hot glue all around. I love hot glue! It makes everything easier. My total cost was $9 ($5 for the pack of butterflies and $3 for the wreath) and the project only took me about a half hour at most to finish.
I bought all of my supplies at Michael's craft store. They have a lot of butterflies in all different colors and styles to choose from too! It was really hard deciding on a color theme. I considered making multiple wreaths in different colors. Do I sense a new gift idea possibility??? Mother's Day is just around the corner after all!

p.s. don't you just love how my pukey olive green apartment door matches my wreath? It was meant to be!

500!

It came and went in the blink of an eye. 500 sales that is! I'm really grateful to have found Etsy and for all of my customers that I have had. It's been lots of fun and hardwork and I hope to continue doing it for as long as I possibly can.

On that same note, that might be why I've been posting rather infrequently. I've never been very good at time management. teehee.

To make up for my lack of posting I put together a little collage of a few of my favorite and most coveted things on Etsy. I had a lot of fun putting this together. I might make some more! Color themes are my favorite to work with.

So listen, now you have a nifty and convenient list to pick from when getting my Christmas present. No excuses!

A sailboat on a rainy day.

My pop-pop's birthday is coming up. September 11th. Can't say I'll ever forget that! I decided to make him a card. Usually when I give cards or gifts, the recipient doesn't receive it until a week after their birthday. I'm a terrible planner. But this time I'm determined to get it to him before his birthday.

I drew a silhouette of a sailboat on tracing paper. Layered it on top of a nice piece of textured cardstock and carefully cut it out with a super sharp X-Acto blade. Then glued that to a another piece of card stock. Layered that with a matching piece and punched holes up the side. And finally threaded some matching green rope down the side to hold everything together. Resulting in a 5x7 inch card..roughly speaking.

[don't mind the terrible sickly lighting. It's a blustery rainy day out.]

I also thought I'd share my sailboat silhouette in case you'd like to make your own sailboat card for your pop-pop. Just right click and save the image to your computer then print out and do the same thing I did with the tracing paper. All I ask is that you don't use my image for commercial purposes (i.e. making cold hard cash off of it) without my permission. Because that wouldn't be very nice....or legal.

want.

There are some great items on Etsy and I've come across a ton! I want to buy them all! And then I hear my mom's voice in my head "..Jam, do you really need those things right now?" Even when she's not around, she guilts me into not blowing my money! If I could tune her out..this is what I'd get...

Green treasuries

I love when I'm in a green themed treasury! Well...I love being featured for anything. But a green treasury really makes my day. The curator used one of my green rings. I love the picture of it. Very bright and abstract. You can see it in my etsy shop here

Peridot Treasury

One of my items was in a treasury today on Etsy. Which is always nice. It's the top left. I LOVE the way that picture came out also. I want to hang the picture on my wall or something. That's how pleased I am with it. Go here to see a better/non-thumbnail version of it.
