painting Spike.

I have a special paintbrush that I keep near my other paintbrushes on my craft table. I don't use it for painting as one might assume. Instead, it's Spike's personal paintbrush that he likes for me to brush on his face. So he'll come by every now and then when I'm working and give me the "brush my face" eyes. So I do. Sometimes Ein gets jealous and wants me to brush her face too. But I only have so many special kitty paintbrushes to go around at one time. She'll have to wait her turn.

It's really hard to get my painting done because god forbid I put down his paintbrush and try to pick up my other brushes to actually do some work. Intricate detailing will have to wait no doubt.

And also at some point when I was actually painting he also managed to rub himself into my paint covered brushes.

Ok that's a lie. I poked him with my paintbrush because he was curious. And it didn't seem to phase him one bit. I'm a terrible mother.

A birthday present

My friend Ashley's birthday was on the 22nd. Seeing as I'm rather poor, I was trying to think of something fun and creative to make her. Somehow I put together this interesting piece. It's a wooden trinket box, painted with acrylics and decorated with all kinds of random bits I've been collecting and have made in the past, but until now, didn't have a purpose. I'm really excited for how it came out! I almost don't want to give it up. I still have the inside to fix up. I was thinking a fuzzy fur, but we'll see how that goes. Oh, and the glossy top coat to finish.
I was also thinking, depending on the reaction I get from others when I show it off, maybe I'll start selling a few! They were a lot of fun to make and I have tons of tiny doo-dads just lying around. Everyone needs a teeny trinket box!

coOoOoOokie crisp.

I've come to realize that I only eat cereal as a dessert. Which makes perfect sense since I'd rather eat a bowl of chef boyardee raviolis for breakfast than pancakes with sausage on the side (*barf). My food timing is off I suppose. And I'm guessing it's all my mom's fault since she'd reguarly feed us pancakes for dinner when I was in highschool...trying to pawn it off as something exciting. Which maybe it was for everyone else, but I was never really a pancake person.

Much to my delight today, Lou bought cereal! And it was the perfect finisher to our chili dinner. (which I neglected to take a picture of when I should have because Lou was the one that actually made it! ...always good to document these momentous occassions).

Cookie Crisp is in my top five favorite cereals, I'm pretty sure. The list changes every now and then. Kix and Lucky Charms are always up there too, with Fruity Pebbles popping in and out.

Once when I was little and my grandma was babysitting me, she gave me a plate with fruity pebbles on it as a snack. I remember thinking "who puts cereal on a plate??". I must have been only 7 or so. It was a pain to balance on my lap as I watched cartoons. It's such a strange fruity pebbles memory.

I think Spike likes Cookie Crisp too. That..and french fries, spaghetti, and any other thing he can get his paws on.

I'm never good at titles.

Well as you may have guessed by now, I've been busy. But instead of alerting the internet world that I have seven Easter related Plinis still available in my shop, I thought I'd take the time to reflect on other happenings in my life.

For starters, Comic Con was this last weekend! I went on Saturday with Lou and our friends Yesenia and Neil. It was an adventure to say the least. We took the train in to NY where it was taking place and got some great "swag" and photos. I think perhaps the best part was the kitty ears I made for Yesenia and I to wear. Besides at the convention, we wore them to the train, on the train, and from the train. People's faces were priceless. I concluded that I should wear cat ears all the time. I haven't really lived up to that statement yet. Perhaps on Monday.

Lou took pictures of Yesenia playing the sometime to be released GTA game for Nintendo DS, but he wasn't allowed to take photos of the actual game. Also, one of the guys in charge of the station had a heart attack when he saw Yesenia and I playing. "Whoa...whoa!!! Are you guys 18?!?". I can't understand why he thought we looked like we were 12. Couldn't be the kitty ears, could it? Yesenia's response was even more priceless... "Yeah I'm 26! That's my husband over there."

Some of my "swag". I also bought a Munny doll which I'm VERY excited about! For those not in the know...it's a vinyl doll that you can paint and decorate yourself. It's all the rage...teehee.

And finally...being at a comic book convention, one would think that there'd be comic book purchasing of some sort involved. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time...and/or I didn't speak up when we were trudging through the huge crowds past the aisles upon aisles of comic book artists. Either way, it inspired me to complete my collection of the comic book I've been reading/collecting for a while now - Kabuki: The Alchemy. I bought the final 3 issues of the series online and they came today (right in time for the weekend) to my excitement!
It's a really beautifully illustrated comic by David Mack (also the Daredevil artist).
