keeping organized

It's a good day! Valentine's Day? Yes, ok, blah blah blah. But it's also the day I FINALLY organized my email inbox. I had literally hundreds of emails sitting around doing nothing, but me, being the pack rat I am, I couldn't even bear to throw away an electronic piece of mail. So I made folders, and I organzied and everything's nice and put away. This successful sorting gave me the bravery to attempt to sort through my bookmarks. Nightmare situation. I bookmark everything. I know there's better ways to organize and remember web pages, pictures, and other crap. But I don't like change. So shush.

The good news, I'm rediscovering all these great tidbits I had forgotten about. I thought I'd write about a few of them.

I understand this is for an aquarium, but I feel like it would look really cool on my bedside table. Maybe in green!

I decided a while back that I want to start a teapot collection. I only have two. But one day when my kitchen has more than 5 inches of counter space, I'll keep the collecting going.

Fascinators might be totally trendy now, but I still think they look really cool. I could never see myself wearing one to work, but I'd love to be going somewhere fun and dressy where I could have an excuse to wear it. I'm especially partial to the vibrant colored ones. If this was in kelly green I'd be in LOVE. But bright blue will do. I feel like this is the type of accessory that looks pretty on the model, but then when I get it home and try it on I look like a doof.

Plasticland is this incredibly awesome website that has vintage-inspired...everything! I especially love their home decor section. I could highlight ALL of the pages of items they have. These are just a few of my faves. I tried to hold back.
Another one of my "collections" I've yet to collect much of is the cuckoo clock! I have one miniature one, but I'd love to own vintage and modern ones. A whole wall of colorful cuckoo clocks...how great would that be!

My dream kitchen will be chock full of colorful glassware and dishes. I picture window pane cabinets so you can see inside a few of them to highlight the really colorful & interesting stuff.

A little something to get me started with organizing letters and cards.

I am a sucker for anything miniaturized. I was so excited to have come across the CUTEST wedding cake pops on the bakerella website. And she shows you how to make them! Her whole website is great, but these are definitely one of my faves. I have to remember these for when I get married.

A great tutorial on making FAKE cupcakes! I loosely referenced this tutorial when making my own fake cupcakes for my craft fair.

Another awesome tutorial. I haven't tried it yet. But my very own sweater boots..heck yes, they look adorable.

Yet another tutorial...! I have a hard time keeping plants alive. I would love to make a pretend bonsai tree for my desk at work!

And a tissue paper lampshade! I have such poor lighting in my apartment. I think making a few of these would really warm the corners of the room. I wonder if the light strands of mini paper lamps would work also.

That's all for now!

You are so much fun! I can't wait till you get your own place some day and you have lots of cabinets with glass fronts and shelves!

Remember all the old teapots we used to get from the garage sales?

Oh, I meant to say, that tissue paper lampshade could be a fire hazard. Just saying. I'm the mother.

My dream kitchen will be....people will walk in and say "hey..do you want some kitchen with your counters and cabinets?" You should see the balancing act I have to play on every flat surface I can find, every time I want to cook!

I was thinking that about the tissue paper lamp. I probably wouldn't end up making it because I'd be too paranoid. It looks cool though.

OH! I am soooooo in love with those boots! But unfortunately weather in my place is too hot and I can't wear them. Well, maybe in a europe trip... O_O

hehe, aw too bad! Yeah, by the time I actually get around to trying to make a pair, it'll probably be summertime here and I won't be able to wear them anyways!
