A trip to the MoMA

This past weekend a big group of us ventured to NY to catch the Tim Burton exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art.

waiting for the rest of our party. DS is a must

I was really excited to take lots of pictures and be able to blog about it later with an array of Tim Burton eye candy. I should have known that the exhibit wouldn't allow photography. The only photo I was able to take was of a giant blow-up creature in the lobby area.

There was a lot of Tim Burton's drawings on display, but it was hard to see them all. The place was PACKED. His 3D stuff was my favorite to look at. There was a glass case with all of the different Jack Skellington expression heads. And another with all of the Corpse Bride figures. I didn't realize how big they were. There was a display of some of the Willy Wonka dolls from the beginning of the movie that sing and creepily catch on fire. Do they have a name? I have no idea. There was also a giant Edward Scissorhands statue, a few Batman masks and the Penguin's baby carriage on display, amongst some other things. Like a few Planet of the Apes helmets (which didn't really interest me...).

We also took a peek at a few other artists before we got too hungry and left. I forgot how much I love walking around museums and recognizing works of art. It's nice to be reminded "hey, I DO know a thing or two about some things!"

Lady, get outta my picture!

boobies. of course.

It's hard to tell in this photo because I couldn't use the flash, but my lovely mature friend here is picking that guy's nose. This is moments before the security guard came over and finally yelled at us for acting like 12 year olds.

We should go again. Less cranky, more leisurly, and more shopping.

I had a dream the other night that I went to Al Pacino's pasta museum. Inside were little scuptures made out of pasta shells and elbows and bowties, etc.
